Last week on this blog, we had a play with ‘chatting’ to PDFs.

Today, the object of my AI affection is MiniGPT-4, which allows us to upload images and chat with them.

What it is supposed to be able to do: identify what’s in the picture and learn more about it. For example, post a picture of what’s in your fridge and ask for the recipe to make something with those ingredients.

I decided, of course, to test this out in a real estate context.

Today’s Prompt of the Day

I uploaded a pic of the external of our house from realestate.com.au and asked for a description (thinking this might be a nice addition to the ChatGPT prompt: Can you please write me a listing description for xxxx)

Describe this house as if you were a real estate agent uploading it to a portal

Here is what I got: 

This is a beautiful house with a swimming pool in the backyard. The house has a modern design with a brick facade and large windows that allow natural light to enter the living room. The front yard is well-manicured with lush green grass and colourful flowers. The swimming pool is surrounded by a deck area with lounge chairs, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun. The house is located in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood with easy access to local amenities and attractions.

Pros:

It does look perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun (apart from the midges, but they are too small to see in any case!)

Cons:

Everything else (I guess you would call this place a renovators delight!) and it seems confused between the front yard and the back yard is the same place.

But the possibilities here are endless - because this technology will only get better.

In the not-too-far-away future you’ll probably be able to:

• Upload a bunch of photos and ask for a better listing description

• Get ideas for renovating or extending

• Ask for landscaping advice

• And the list goes on…

File this one under one to watch, but for now, I’m going to see if I can get it to find me a recipe for Nobu’s Miso Caramel Brownies…
