"Repurposing — the secret key to never running out of resources." - Anonymous

One of the quickest ways I know to create a heap of content is to create one long-form video - preferably a PTC (piece to camera) video where you follow the old-school essay format:

  • Here’s what I’m going to talk about (hook and opening)

  • Here’s my Point 1 (explanation)

  • Here’s my Point 2 (explanation)

  • Here’s my Point 3 (explanation

  • Closing: “If you only remember one thing, let it be this” (incorporate know, feel, do and a good call to action)

From that one long-form video, you can do heaps:

  1. Cut it up into smaller, shorter videos for TikTok, Instagram or Facebook (we do this with our podcast videos)

  2. Get it transcribed and create a blog post out of it for your website

  3. Get the key points from your blog post, and create an Instagram or Linkedin Carousel with it

  4. Take those key points and start a LinkedIn article and link back to your blog post

  5. Use it as part of your monthly newsletter

…And the list goes on.

Today’s tool of the day

Today we’re going to run an experiment on Point 1 because I keep hearing about this AI tool called Opus which is supposed to cut up and caption videos automatically for you.

All you have to do is get a YouTube video and click the button that says get clips in one click.

The AI is supposed to select the clips based on what’s being said, along with giving them a score on their predicted engagement.

So today, I’ve chosen to see if I can “cut up” a training session I did for The Agency a couple of months ago to see if the tool is up to the hype I have heard so far.
