Generating FAQs, Saving your conversations, a Midjourney website + more
plus - is there a ChatGPT search engine coming?
How is it May already? It feels like this year is whizzing by, but I look forward to seeing our premium subscribers on Friday for our regular bi-monthly catchup/deep dive (see below). If you have a question or topic you would like covered, please reply to this email and let me know.
Meanwhile, another month has rattled by, so it’s time for another five-thing round-up post—and as usual, there is lots to talk about!
1. In a world first, we have an official music video created entirely with Sora
Text-to-video generator Sora has been grabbing headlines left, right and centre since Open AI gave us a sneak peek in February.
Now Paul Trillo has directed a Sora-powered video, “The Hardest Part”, a new single from indie chillwave artist Washed Out (Ernest Weatherly Greene Jr.).
The video is 4 minutes long, and Trillo generated 700 clips to create the final product (of which only 55 of them were actually used in the video!)
Take a look at the finished product below:
2. Fancy GPT
Ever had such a great conversation with ChatGPT that you wish you could save it in a ‘nicer’ format?
FancyGPT is a Chrome extension that allows you to save and share ChatGPT snippets as images, searchable PDFs, or text files…
Why would you want to do that?
To use them in your own GPTs of course!
This one might be a topic for Friday’s get-together, but if you want to check it out, you can get it here (free!).
3. You can now generate Midjourney images directly on their website - but there’s a catch…
If you’ve played a bit with Midjourney (which generates images from text) you’ll know two things:
It’s a wonderful tool, but a complete rabbit hole (translate: time suck)
It’s a bit of a pain learning the ropes in Discord if you are a newbie.
Now, there is an alpha version of a Midjourney website that you can access if you have generated 100 or more images.
(Side note: As Midjourney is the primary tool we use for generating the AI Quiz in The Brief, I didn’t have a problem getting in!)
4. FAQ Generator
I have previously written a post on how to generate an FAQ with your website with ChatGPT.
But if you don’t want to go through all that prompting, there is a free FAQ generator with a pretty cool interface - you just put in your URL, and it generates your FAQ.
I gave it a quick test with my course page, but it regurgitated the FAQs I had already written - and so I wasn’t that impressed.
But I thought I would include it for the rave reviews on Youtube and that it might work better for you - let me know how you go!
5. Is a ChatGPT search engine coming next week?
It’s been a while since we all got excited about the Bing Chat (well, I did for a while there last year!), thinking that Google might finally have some real competition.
Mashable reported yesterday that a domain name and security certificate for search.chatgpt.com had been created. However, if you click on that address, it currently leads to nothing - just a terse “not found” message.
You can read more about that here.
So there you go - 5 interesting things happening in the AI world this week.
Happy hunting 🚀
